Automatic Imposition Using Hot Folders
Imposition Wizard supports AppleScript, so it allows to be called using folder actions. Let's create folder "folder" on the desktop that will be our "hot folder". Now start Imposition Wizard and create a project that will do the imposition you need. After testing it, clear the source file field of the project and save it to our hot folder using the name "project". You should finally have something like this:

Now, the script: AutoImpose.applescript, download it and open using the script editor. Then save it to either ~/Library/Scripts/Folder Action Scripts/ or /Library/Scripts/Folder Action Scripts/ folders using the "Script" format. You have to create the folder if it doesn't exist. Finally you should see the following:

The last step is to ask Mac OS X to run the script every time we drop file to our folder. Do Control+Click on the our folder (or use the right mouse button) and select the "Folder Actions Setup..." item. You will see the folder actions window with your folder in the left column. To see the list of possible actions (if it is not already shown), click the "+" button at the bottom right corner of the window:

Select the "AutoImpose.scpt" item and click the "Attach" button. The script will be linked to the folder. Do not forget to enable folder actions by checking the box at the top of the window:

Please note, that if you don't see "AutoImpose.scpt" item in the list, that means that you either saved it to the wrong path or, if you see "AutoImpose.applescript", you saved it in the wrong format. Revert to the steps above and check that you did everything right.
Testing
Now drop any source PDF document to our folder. Imposition Wizard should start in a few seconds and impose your document according to the provided project. Imposed file will be placed to the "Done" folder. On the screenshot below, we dropped "8pages.pdf" file and it was imposed to the file with the same name to the "Done" folder.

Important
Starting from version 1.6, the scripting interface of Imposition Wizard has been changed. The "target" property was removed and replaced with the enhanced "impose in" command. The link above contains the latest version of the script, please fix your scripts if you used this feature with older versions of Imposition Wizard.
